In France, a three-year-old girl has died after being found in a washing machine.

Authorities in Paris are investigating with a special unit leading the incident.

According to the newspaper Le Parisien, the girl was found alive in the washing machine last night.

She was then taken to the hospital, where she died an hour later in the emergency room.

Her father and another family member allegedly found her on the plane during dinner.

The device was not turned on but had doors that closed automatically, reports Le Parisien.

Prosecutors say the girl was at home in her family’s apartment in Paris’ 20th arrondissement, an area west of the city center.

A special unit for the protection of minors is leading the investigation.
