An earthquake of magnitude 6.5 shakes the Argentine province of Santiago del Estero

A magnitude 6.5 earthquake in the Richter scale shook this Friday the Argentine province of Santiago del Esteroin the center-north of the country, with no victims or material damage reported to date.

According to him National Institute for Seismic Prevention (Inpres) of Argentina, The tremor occurred at 7:09 p.m. local time (22:09 GMT) and occurred at a depth of 593 kilometers.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located 152 kilometers northeast of the capital, Santiago del Esteroand 42 kilometers southwest of the town of Campo Gallo.
