After responding to some journalists, before whom he clarified his state of health with a direct “I’m still alive”, Francisco met two parents, Serena and Matteobroken with grief for the death of their daughter, Angelicaonly five years old, the night before.

At that moment, the Pope hugged his mother to his chest, who was crying uncontrollably and repeated “thank you”, while the father explained that he got to know the little girl because in 2019 she visited the Roman neighborhood of Casal Bertone and held her in his arms.

“Let us pray for Angelica”, Bergoglio then encouraged, who took them by the hand to start a prayer, after giving them some rosaries.

Francisco said goodbye to these parents giving them his blessing and with a kiss on the face.
