Donald Trump appears in court again in New York

Former US President donald trump appears again in court this Thursday to be questioned in a case of alleged fraud in his company Trump Organization, a week after his indictment in another criminal case.

“I’m going downtown (in New York) to meet a racist who has leaked that I’ll be there at 9:30,” Trump wrote about the prosecutor, an African-American Democrat elected at the polls.

Consulted last week by AFP, the services of the attorney general did not confirm this hearing, which could take place in their offices.

The prosecutor had already questioned Trump under oath last August. The trial is scheduled to begin on October 2, 2023.

The former president, who aspires to return to the White House in the 2024 elections, described the case as “ridiculous”, “Like the rest of the cases of electoral interference of which I am the object”

James accuses the 76-year-old Republican tycoon and his three children of having “deliberately” manipulated the group’s assets – which include golf clubs, luxury hotels and other properties – to obtain more advantageous loans from banks or reduce taxes.

This case is different from the criminal process in which he was charged last week accused of 34 crimes for alleged accounting and tax fraud to hide a payment to a porn actress to buy her silence in the final stretch of the 2016 elections for an alleged relationship ten years before the tycoon has always denied.
