The inmate who escaped from jail by posing as another prisoner who was about to be released

At the Cowlitz County Corrections Department (Washington, USA) something unexpected happened. It turns out that inmate Brian Francisco Roman, 26, escaped from jail by posing as another inmate who was due to be released.

In a post made in Facebook by the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Officein United States, where two viral photos of the protagonist of this story were attached, it was revealed that everything occurred as a result of an officer going to contact a prisoner who was going to be released. Upon reaching the cell, said inmate and two others were asleep.

“When the corrections officer called the inmate, Roman identified himself as that inmate and went to the corrections officer to be processed out of custody. Jail staff stated that Roman and the other inmate have similar physical characteristics.”reported the institution.

“During the release process, Roman received property belonging to the other inmate and signed documents, falsifying that inmate’s name. Among the assets turned over to Roman were the victim inmate’s clothing, keys and wallet, which contained an ID and debit card. Prison staff did not realize that the wrong inmate had been released until the victim inmate contacted them to ask when he would be released.”also read in the publication of Facebook.

As a result of what happened, law enforcement agencies began searching for the inmate. According to the aforementioned source, the Cowlitz County Prosecutor’s Office issued an arrest warrant for Brian “on charges of evasion in the second degree, criminal identity theft in the first degree, forgery, robbery in the second and third degree.” Fortunately, the man has already been arrested.
