Mexico denounces racism of the United States Congress by law that resumes the border wall

He Government Mexican denounced this Friday the racism of the House of Representatives of USA for approving a law Thursday that resumes construction of the border wall that began donald trump (2017-2021) and new anti-immigrant measures.

“This is organized because next year there are elections. So what is the cement of these ideas of those who promote this? What is the cement? Racism against Mexicans, and in general all Spanish-speakers”declared the Mexican foreign minister, Marcelo Ebrard.

In the morning government conference, Ebrard criticized the bill promoted by Republican Florida legislator Mario Díaz-Balart that reactivates the wall works, further restricts asylum processes and authorizes 24-hour operating drones on the border with Mexico.

The initiative was approved by 219 votes in favor of the Republicans and 213 against, but it is not likely to succeed because the Senate is in the hands of the Democrats and the president Joe Biden He warned that he will veto it.

For this reason, the chancellor accused the Republicans of insisting on this law “to get a political split” towards the 2024 elections.

“We, of course, reject that, but it is important for public opinion to clarify what it is about: taking a political crack, taking advantage of the migratory flow, blaming Mexico preparing his electoral political campaign, because the only cement of that party today is racism”, sentenced.

The secretary asserted that “there are a series of lies that the Republicans handle,” such as the one that migrants traffic fentanyl.

He also reiterated that “The approaches are unacceptable for Mexico”.

“It would cause a crisis between the two main partners. The United States is the main market in the world and Mexico is the main partner of the United States. It would be like shooting each other in the foot. We are going to say: it is absurd, ”he said.

The chancellor also repudiated the statements of the Republican senator john kennedywho stated that Mexico “would be eating cat food” without the support of USA and demanded the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to push for the use of the US military against Mexican cartels.

“It is a racist and false strategy against our country, and we are going to continue to say it clearly, because if nothing is said and we remain silent, first of all we would be accepting that our national pride be trampled on”Ebrard commented.

Meanwhile, the president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador reiterated that he will ask Mexicans in USAwhere about 38 million live, that do not vote for this type of politician.
