The story of a teenager who survived a shark attack in the US.

A 13-year-old girl with a passion for marine biology remains relentless after battling a shark during a vicious attack that left her with 19 stitches. The incident occurred while eighth grader Ella Reed was swimming with a friend at a beach in Fort Pierce, Florida. USA. His story has been made viral on social networks.

“I remember breathing really hard and then when it clung to my stomach, I couldn’t breathe at all because I thought: ‘What the hell is going on?’he recalled in an interview with Today about the terrible experience.

According to Reed, the shark, which she believes was a bull sharkstarted attacking her arm after she tried to fight while advising her friend to head to a safe place.

“First he bit me in the stomach. And just when he bit me, I pushed him with my arm where he was biting me so that it would not reach my stomach, but my arm”he continued. “Then I hit him with my other hand, like I hit him on the nose or face”.

She told the aforementioned media outlet that “I was doing everything I could to get rid of me.

“It was all instinct, but when you’re in the moment, you don’t really think to do those things”she said. “I didn’t even mean to hit him in the nose, I was just trying to hit him anywhere”.

Ready to go back in the water

His mother, Devin Reed, shared with the aforementioned publication that I didn’t believe the attack happened until she saw her daughter’s injuries over a FaceTime video call.

“At first, I thought he was actually kidding, and then he says, ‘I’m not kidding!’ And she took the camera, and focused it on her body, and i froze and got scaredsaid. “The first thing she did was tell her friend to run, not ask for help. She was saving her friend.”

After the mother-daughter duo met in person, the teen she was taken to a fire department nearby before being transported to an emergency room.

“I thought it would be much faster and better for her to get her into the best hands as quickly as possible.”Devin explained.

Although the experience left Ella with 5 points in the torso, 14 points in the leg and trouble sleeping, her mother revealed during the interview that Ella was ready to get back in the water.

“She says, ‘If I went through that, I’ll show people.'”Devin said.
