Zelensky visits Mikoláyiv, where a person has died from the floods

Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskytraveled to the southern region of Ukraine of Mikolayiv, where the authorities reported today the death of a person as a result of the flooding caused by the destruction of a dam located in an area occupied by Russia in neighboring Kherson.

“We have visited the main pumping station of the management channel of the inhulets riverwhich is flooded due to the destruction of the dam of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station”wrote this Thursday Zelensky in your Telegram account.

The president, who arrived in the area from Khersonpointed out that several towns have been evacuated in the province of mikolayivwhere the authorities, he explained, work to rescue the most affected and offer them drinking water and food.

A 53-year-old man has died in the town of Vasilivka of this southern region of Ukraine as a result of the floods, the police of the province reported this Thursday.

According to the competent authorities, the torrent of water caused by the overflow of the dam has flooded more than 3,000 hectares of forest land in Mykolayiv.
