Pope Francis to Lula da Silva: “We are in times of war and peace is very fragile”

He Pope Francisco received today in audience at the Vatican to the president of Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silvawhom he warned that “we are in times of war and peace is very fragile”, at the end of a meeting in which they showed great harmony and affection and which concluded with a word of encouragement: “Force”.

“We are in times of war and peace is very fragile. I give you what we do in our workshops”explained the pontiff to the Brazilian president and the first lady, Rosângela “Janja” da Silvaby giving them a bas-relief titled “Peace is a fragile flower.”

The president gave the pontiff an engraving of the sacred Family of the artist of Pernambuco JF Borgeswhile his wife presented him with a statue of Our Lady of Nazareth of Belém.

Francisco for his part gave him his Message of Peace 2023the Document on Human Fraternity, the book on the “Statio Orbis” of March 27, 2020, when he prayed for the end of the pandemic in a square San Pedro deserted.
