Wagner boss says his forces shot down a Russian military helicopter

The head of the paramilitary group Wagnerwho called for an armed rebellion against the Russian military command, claimed on Saturday that his forces shot down a Russian military helicopter.

“A helicopter has just opened fire on a civilian column. It has been shot down by units of Wagner”he claimed Yevgeny Prigozhin in a new audio message.

The AFP could not verify the veracity of this version.

Previously, Prigozhin had said that his units entered the south of Russia for the region of Rostov.

Prigozhin accused the chief of the Russian General Staff, General Valery Gerasimovof ordering attacks against their units despite the fact that they were traveling among civilian vehicles.
