Florida subpoenas Zuckerberg to testify for the use of networks by human traffickers

The attorney general of Florida, Ashley Moodyannounced this Monday that he invited the executive director of Goal, mark zuckerbergto testify next October before the State Council on the Human Trafficking for the use of their platform by criminals who exploit the victims.

The next meeting of the State Council on Human Trafficking Florida is scheduled for October 2 and the attorney general requested in her letter to Zuckerberg a response by September 5 as the deadline.

In the US, according to a federal report, in 2022 there were 183 new criminal cases of human trafficking opened in the federal judicial system, which meant a 24% decrease compared to the previous year.

The platforms most commonly used by the traffickers investigated in these cases to recruit their victims were, in this order, SnapchatInstagram, kick, grindr, video gamesFacebook, discord, Yubo, Tinder, omegle, live.me and Gate of Chaos.
