Zelensky claims that Ukraine is closely monitoring the activities of the Wagner Group in Belarus

The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskystated today that Ukraine keeps under close control the activities of mercenaries in belarusreferring to the more than 2,000 members of the Russian private military company Wagner that would have arrived this week in Belarusian territory.

In a message posted on Telegram about the issues to be discussed at his meeting today with those responsible for state security, Zelensky He said he expected to receive reports from military intelligence, the Foreign Intelligence Service and the Border Guard about the presence of Russian mercenaries there.

After leading the seizure of bakhmut in the war of Ukrainehe wagner group rebelled on June 23 against the Russian Army, after accusing it of sabotaging the mercenaries and even bombing their camps.

The leader of Wagner finally agreed to retire with the mercenaries who followed him to the neighboring belarusafter the intervention in the crisis of the president of that country, an ally of Russia in the war against Ukraine, Alexander Lukashenko.

Belarus is bordered to the south by Ukraineand also has borders with Lithuania, Latvia and Polandwhich raises fears of possible actions by the Wagner who have moved there against the Ukrainian territory or that of those three countries of the European Union.
