Biden will receive the leaders of Japan and South Korea in August

The president of USA, Joe Bidenwill receive the Prime Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida, and the President of South KoreaYoon Suk Yeol, on August 18 outside Washington, the White House reported Friday.

“The leaders will celebrate a new chapter in their trilateral relationship while reaffirming the strong ties of friendship and strong alliances between USA and Japanand USA and the Republic of Koreaaccording to an official statement.

The summit, which will take place at the presidential retreat at Camp David, near Washington in rural Maryland, will be an opportunity for “discuss the expansion of trilateral cooperation in the Indo-Pacific and beyond”added the White House.

Leaders will address the “continuing threat” of North Korea and “They will advance the joint trilateral vision to face global and regional security challenges, promoting a rules-based international order and strengthening economic prosperity”.

Biden has made it a priority for his allies Japan and South Korea overcome years of tension and work together in the face of provocations from nuclear-armed North Korea, as well as fears of confrontation with superpower China.
