The girl was taken to a hospital in southern Illinois and passed away Thursday.

Texas officials confirmed his death on Friday, but did not release further details.

The bus left the city of Brownsville, on the border with Mexico.. Before departure, the passengers’ temperatures were checked and they were asked if they had any medical conditions, Texas officials said.

Authorities said that when the girl’s health appeared to be deteriorating, the bus “stopped and security personnel on board called 911.”

Officials with the Texas Division of Emergency Management said that “every loss of life is a tragedy.”

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has sent more than 30,000 immigrants to Democratic-controlled cities since last year under Operation Lone Star, a strategy that includes installing barbed wire and buoys to slow the flow of migrants.

Last month, the US Department of Justice sued Abbott for refusing to remove a floating barrier on the Rio Grande.

This tragedy occurred weeks after an 8-year-old girl was killed at a US Border Patrol site in Texas.

Thousands of migrants were sent from Texas to US cities run by the Democratic Party, under a controversial scheme that has been denounced for violating the human rights of migrants.

On the other hand, the refugee crisis in Venezuela is the second largest in the world.

More than seven million Venezuelans have left the country since 2015 due to political and economic problems.
