Nicolás Maduro offers “all protection” to opposition politicians who are victims of threats

The president of Venezuela, Nicolas Madurooffered this Monday “all protection” to opposition politicians victims of threats, and supported the investigation undertaken by the Attorney General’s Office regarding the complaint made by the anti-Chavista presidential candidate Delsa Solorzanowho reported that she received messages where they assure that they will kill her.

I condemn all kinds of violence and I offer all the protection against this type of threats that, without a doubt, are assemblies that come from perverse sectors that want to disturb the peace and security of Venezuela. My respect to all the leaders of the opposition, whatever differences we may have”, said the president during his weekly program “With Maduro +”.

The president assured that he gave an order to the Minister of the Interior and Justice, remigio ceballosthat the Government also investigate the death threats received by the opposition presidential candidate, who on Saturday denounced that, through Facebook, she received messages that include phrases such as “the collective forces of THE N (National Liberation Army) are going to assassinate you”.

This investigation is going to be carried out, the truth is going to be discovered. For me it is a montage of malicious people, because the threat is made in the name of Maduro, of Diosdado (Cabello), of the Bolivarian revolution. We have never ever used the methods of terrorism, attacks and violence to settle our political differences“, he claimed.

He assured that Chavismo “never“has used violence, and reiterated that in his government they are”people of peace, people of dialogue”.

After Solórzano – one of the 13 people seeking to become the opposition standard-bearer for the 2024 presidential elections – made the threats public, the attorney general, Tarek William Saabreported that the 94th national human rights prosecutor was appointed to investigate this fact.
