Strong tremor is felt in Bogotá and other parts of Colombia

A magnitude 5.9 tremor shook a good part of Colombiawithout so far the authorities have reported victims or damage.

According to him Colombian Geological Servicethe earthquake occurred at 12:04 local time (17:04 GMT) and its epicenter was located in the north of the department of Goala few kilometers from the Colombian capital.

The tremor was felt intensely in Bogotá and in other cities of the country, where people took to the streets due to the emergency.

The newspaper El Tiempo reports that in Villavicencio, capital of the department where the earthquake occurred, houses, buildings and the headquarters of public entities were evacuated. The same happens in Bogotá, the country’s capital, and other important cities in central Colombia.
