Niger gave this Friday a period of 48 hours to the French ambassador, Sylvain Itteto leave his territory for refusing to meet with his foreign minister, Bakary Yaou Sangare, appointed by the military junta that took power on July 26 after a coup.

This has been communicated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Niger to the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, in a diplomatic note to which EFE has had access.
Although the Nigerian Executive reproaches the French ambassador for his refusal to attend the meeting with Sangare, scheduled for this Friday, it also accuses the French Government of “other acts contrary to the interests of Niger”, without giving more details.
France was one of the main economic and military partners of Nigerbut after the coup that overthrew the president, Mohamed Bazoumbecame a symbol of Western domination for the military junta and its social bases.
