The tropical storm idalia will cause this Monday “very strong” rains and possible waterspouts in the Caribbean Mexico, the main tourist area of ​​the country, according to the National Meteorological Service (SMN).

The cyclone, which emerged on Sunday and could make landfall in Florida as a hurricane on Wednesday, was located in the latest SMN advisory 100 miles east of Cozumel and 180 kilometers east-southeast of cancunboth towns in the state of Quintana Rooas well as 150 kilometers south of cape san antonio, Cuba.

The phenomenon moves north at 13 kilometers per hour, with sustained winds of 100 kilometers per hour and gusts of 120 kilometers for now.
