Bullrich is defended as “the true alternative to Kirchnerism” in the next Argentine presidential elections

The Argentine presidential candidate for the opposition coalition Together for Change (center right), Patricia Bullrichboasted this Thursday of being “the real alternative to Kirchnerism”during an event held in good airwith the presence of the former Argentine president Mauricio Macri (2015-2019).

After explaining this week his support for Bullrich to silence the voices that placed him close to the libertarian candidate, Javier Milei -who said that, if he governed, he would count on the former president to represent the Argentina abroad -, Macri witnessed the event from the front row, several seats away from the mayor of Buenos Aires, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta.

We are the only force that puts our chest on Kirchnerism and now we have to finish this work. We are the true alternative to Kirchnerism. we were always“, stated Macri’s former Minister of Security during the presentation of her book”Overnight“, held at law School from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA).

The former Minister of Labor (2000-2001) and Social Security (2001) with the radical president Fernando da Rua (1999-2001) commented that he cannot do “all in 24 hours“but show Argentina”trust”.

These first 24 hours will be crucial because this is where you lay the foundation for a set of things that show a path forward.“, said the opposition candidate.

Bullrich insisted on his Government’s prescriptions, which include a restructuring of the State to cut public spending, improvements in public health and education, and a firm hand against crime, especially drug trafficking.

The only policy to combat drug trafficking is not technical, it is a political decision. It’s putting things in their rightful place“, stated the former minister, who added:”The first thing we will do is give clear instructions to the security forces and I will truly be the commander in chief of the Argentine Armed Forces.”.

Furthermore, he reflected on the occupation of the Pink House: “I imagine this is the first of 1,460 days in which we have a challenge: to eradicate what Kirchnerism meant in Argentina”.

In the STAGE elections (primary, open, simultaneous and mandatory), Together for Change was the second most voted force, with 28% support, behind Advances of Freedom (far right), which obtained 29.86% of the votes, and ahead of the official coalition Union for the Fatherland (Peronist) (27.28%).

However, Bullrich, who was the candidate chosen in his formation against Rodríguez Larreta, was the third most voted candidate, behind the libertarian Milei and the current Minister of Economy and official candidate, Sergio Massa.

Argentina holds general elections on October 22, in which the next occupant of the Pink House for the period 2023-2027.

If no candidate reaches 45% or at least 40% and a 10 percentage point difference in relation to the second candidate, there will be a second round on November 19th.
