According to North Korean state agency KCNA, Kim was “deeply impressed” by the Russian aviation industry after visiting the Yuri Gagarin Aviation Factory in Komsomolsk-on-Amur on Friday.

Kim has been to several facilities including fighter aircraft fuselage assembly workshop and a wing production workshop. He also climbed into the cockpit of an aircraft.

On Saturday, in the region of Primorye, Kim met with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. The meeting was in Vladivostok, the administrative center of that region.

At the meeting with Shoigu, Kim sought to “familiarize himself with Russia’s modern tactical-operational aircraft” and “inspected the frigate Shaposhnikovnaval missile systems with uranium and other Russian weapons”, indicated the local press.

Kim Jong-un and Vladimir Putin met on Wednesday at the cosmodrome Vostochni. The meeting lasted five hours. At the end of the meeting, the Russian president said that the North Korean leader showed “great interest” in space issues, as North Korea has made space technology a priority. He also assured that there is room for military cooperation.

In turn, Kim offered his support to Putin: “I will always be on Russia’s side” he said.

According to the media U.S which cited intelligence sources, Kim would be willing to support Russia in the war in Ukraine with “millions” of anti-tank missiles and artillery ammunition, while North Korea would receive satellite technology or nuclear-powered submarines in exchangein addition to food aid.
