Committee Investigating US Capitol Assault Cites March Organizers

The committee of the Lower House of USA that investigates the assault on Capitol on January 6, he summoned this Wednesday to declare 11 people whom he considers “organizers” of the protest.

The decision comes a week after the committee subpoenaed two senior officials of former President Donald Trump, one from the Pentagon and the controversial ideologue and former adviser Steve Bannon, for their role in the assault.

Among the 11 new people mentioned, who unlike the previous ones do not have a high public profile, is Amy Kremer, founder of the organization “Women for America First”, which served as a front for the organization of the protest.

Another of those mentioned is Katrina Pierson, a former spokesperson for Trump’s presidential campaign in 2016 and who is considered the link between the January 6 protest and the White House.

According to the subpoena, Pierson “participated in a meeting with President Trump in the Oval Office on January 4, 2021.”

The inquiry commission, made up of a majority of Democratic congressmen and only two Republicans – Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger – who are at odds with Trump, thus takes another step forward in its investigations into the assault on Congress.

Last month, the commission already asked various government agencies for documents about what happened, including those from the White House regarding the movements and meetings that Trump held on January 6.

He also asked telecommunications companies and social networks to keep the records of hundreds of people if required by the commission.

Among the officials summoned to testify last week also includes the White House chief of staff on the day of the assault, Mark Meadows.
