Venezuela says it found tunnels and prevented a mass escape from Tocorón, the prison controlled by Trem Aragua

The government of Venezuela He assured this Wednesday that he prevented a “mass escape” from the Tocorón prison, located in the state of Aragua, thanks to the police and military intervention in this prison, which took place since dawn today, with the deployment of 11,000 security forces agents . .

“We detected some tunnels. We avoided a massive leak and we control all those deprived of liberty and we also capture some people with weapons.”said Interior and Justice Minister Remigio Ceballos in his first statement on the procedure, offered to state channel VTV.

Ceballos said that The police and military “guaranteed the human rights of people deprived of their liberty”, as well as “the life and tranquility of the people of the adjacent cities”.

He announced that the inmates will be transferred to some of the country’s 85 prisons and that security agencies will continue their searches, “which will not stop”, for “other individuals” related to the crimes discovered in Tocorón.

Agents from the security forces linked to the Ministries of the Interior and Justice and the Penitentiary Service, as well as the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and the Public Ministry (MP, Attorney General’s Office) participate in the intervention.

So far there is no official information about injuries or escapees during these procedures.
