Tycoon Rupert Murdoch steps down as chairman of Fox and News Corp

The tycoon Rupert Murdoch announced this Thursday that he is retiring from the position of president of the media conglomerate Fox it’s from News Corporationleaving the reins of the business to his son Lachlan.

The 92-year-old Australian-born American will step down in November, when both companies hold their general shareholders’ meeting, a press release from both companies indicates.

After these general shareholder meetings, Lachlan Murdoch52, will become exclusive president of News Corp. and will continue as executive president and executive director of Fox Corporation.
