This is the heartbreaking moment a journalist broke down when he heard his children had been killed in a bombing in Gaza.

Elsewhere, Mohammad Al-Aloul, a photographer with Turkey’s Anadolu Agency, reported on the attack by Israeli forces on his neighborhood in the Al-Maghazi refugee camp.

Four of his five children were among the lifeless bodies dug from the smoking piles where their home once stood.

Four of Mohammed’s brothers and their children were among the dozens of victims.

He broke down as he recalled on camera the moment he learned of her death.

“I was at work when I heard that an Israeli airstrike had hit a residential area in Al-Maghazi, killing and injuring people,” he said.

“Slowly the news started coming in telling me your daughter is hurt, your son is hurt.

“I contacted colleagues at Al-Aqsa Hospital and eventually discovered that my four children had been murdered.”

Tears streamed down Mohammed’s cheeks as he listed the names of his sons, his only daughter and his nephews who died in the attack.

People gathered at the hospital entrance hugged the journalist, still wearing his blue helmet and bulletproof vest, as he cried in their arms.

He was later seen with the remains of one of his children wrapped in a white sheet.

Salama Marouf, head of the Hamas government’s media office, said at least 38 Palestinians were killed and 100 injured in the attack on the refugee camp, adding that an unknown number of people were missing.
