Hamas government raises death toll to 15,000 in Israeli attacks on Gaza

The government of Hamas announced this Monday that the number of confirmed deaths in Gaza strip since the beginning of the war between Israel and the Islamic group, on October 7th, and until the beginning of the truce, last Friday, exceeded 15 thousand, while more than 36 thousand were injured.

As the group explained in a statement, there are also almost 7,000 missingwhose whereabouts are unknown or believed to be under the rubble.

Of the 15,000 deathsmore than 6,150 are children and more than 4,000 are women.

The Hamas Government Information Office indicates that, between October 7 and November 24, 207 health professionals died, including doctors, nurses and emergency services workers; 26 members of civil protection and 70 journalists.

This announcement coincides with the fourth day of truce between both parties, which will allow the release of at least 69 Israeli hostages and foreigners in exchange for 150 Palestinian prisoners.

Both sides agreed today to extend the military pause – which includes the entry of humanitarian help in Link and the continuation of exchanges of hostages for prisoners – another two days.

Israel declared war on Hamas on October 7, following an attack by the Islamist group, which included the launch of more than 4,000 rockets and the infiltration of around 3,000 militiamen, who killed around 1,200 people and kidnapped more than 240 in Israeli communities Near the Gas rangefor.
