Kim Jong-un would not hesitate to “annihilate” South Korea, according to the KCNA agency

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un He called for strengthening nuclear deterrence and warned that he would not hesitate to “annihilate”to his southern rival, during a visit to weapons factories, the official press agency KCNA reported on Wednesday.

Relations between the two Koreas reached their lowest point in decades after Kim enshrined the North’s status as a nuclear power in the Constitution and launched several intercontinental ballistic missile tests.

Accompanied by senior political and military officials, Kim visited several munitions factories on Monday and Tuesday, KCNA reported.

He described the visits as a motivation for workers “in the fight to reach the huge production target for the new year”.

U.S and its allies South Korea and Japan accuse North Korea of violating international sanctions by transferring missiles to Russia for his war against Ukraine.
