2024 US Presidential Election: Trump ‘Obsessed with Dictators’ and Condemns Republican Opponent Nikki Haley

No doubt sensing that Ron DeSantis was about to throw in the towel and call for a vote for Trump in the Republican primary, Nikki Haley began taking heavy shots at her rival. The former governor of South Carolina accused him of being “obsessed” with dictators and too old to rule the United States again.

On Saturday, after a campaign meeting in Peterborough, New Hampshire, where we vote on Tuesday for the second round of primaries, the former US ambassador to the United Nations spoke to reporters. She highlighted Trump’s relationships with men such as Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. . It shows the mother of Otto Warmbier, who died in 2017 after being detained in North Korea. Haley accused Trump of writing “love letters” to Kim after the student’s repatriation. “He’s obsessed with these dictators,” she said.

“When you have to deal with the pressures of the presidency, you can’t have somebody that you wonder if he’s mentally capable of doing it,” she previously said. “I’m not saying it’s like Joe Biden, but what I’m saying is: Are we really going to have two octogenarians running for president? Do we really want to see them throwing names around and making mistakes at 80 years old when they have to deal with Putin, Xi Jinping and Kim? ” pretended to question the 52-year-old candidate on Fox News, ignoring the fact that Trump is now only 77 years old.

Trump takes aim at his name

So far, Nikki Haley has avoided harsh attacks against her former boss. But after finishing third in Iowa, the Republican needs every argument to stay in the race. Especially since second-place finisher Ron DeSantis ended his campaign on Sunday, joining Trump’s enormous popularity among Republican voters.

Ahead of South Carolina next month, Haley’s home state of New Hampshire has a more moderate Republican leaning with a semi-open primary that could attract more centrist voters who may be put off by Trump’s four criminal cases. If one of these cases or the Supreme Court invalidates her candidacy, Haley will be left alone in the race for the nomination. And a good result in the primaries will give him credibility among Democrats.

Until then, Haley refuses to consider Trump’s proposal. On Friday, she ruled out becoming his running mate. The former president spared no expense in his attacks, again targeting his name and birthright as an American citizen. Hayley, the daughter of two Indian immigrants, was born Nimarata Nikki Randhawa, but used her middle name Nikki for a long time and later took her husband’s surname.
