He no longer speaks it every day and sometimes looks up words in French. Aged just 30, Freddie Howard-Keyes grew up in Stena (Meuse), north of Verdun, where he attended primary and secondary school. His British parents settled in the city when he was 8 years old. They still live there. He dreamed of a destiny across the English Channel.
