Brazil: Police investigate attempted break-in at Lula da Silva’s official residence

The Brazilian Federal Police are investigating the attempt by a vehicle driver to invade the Palácio da Alvorada, the president’s official residence. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in Brasília, the institution reported this Saturday.

Lula was in Brasília at the time of the event, after returning on Friday night from an official trip to Rio de Janeiro.

The president’s security has been a topic of debate since thousands of the former president’s followers JairBolsonaro (2019-2022) invaded the headquarters of the Presidency, Congress and the Federal Supreme Court in Brasília at the beginning of 2023, without the security forces being able to stop them in time.
