The failed launch took place at 11am GMT this Wednesday (2am GMT) from a platform in Kushimoto (Wakayamawest of Japan), and was scheduled for today, after being postponed last Saturday, when a ship was detected nearby.
The rocket took off from the platform at the scheduled time, but exploded in mid-air just seconds later, scattering burning fuel and fragments of it across the platform, as seen in the live broadcast of the launch by state broadcaster NHK. .
