Ukraine: SBU source claims drone attacks on three Russian refineries

Last night, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) attacked three oil refineries located in three different regions of Ukraine with drones. Russian Federationas stated this Wednesday to the Ukrainian public news agency, Ukrinform, by an anonymous source from the SBU itself.

The three refineries attacked are in the Russian regions of Ryazan, Nizhny Novgorod It is Leningradall of them in the west of Russia.

“We are carrying out a systematic and detailed strategy to reduce the economic potential of the Russian Federation,” the SBU source told Ukrinform.

“Our task,” he added, “is to deprive the enemy of resources and reduce the flow of oil and fuel that the Russian Federation allocates directly to the war, to kill our citizens,” the source emphasized.

The Russian channel Telegram Baza this morning published several videos of a fire and a column of smoke at the Ryazan refinery.

Russian authorities reported this Wednesday the shooting down of more than 40 Ukrainian drones in the Russian region of Voronezh in the last 24 hours. The Russian Defense Ministry also reported Ukrainian attacks with several drones against the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Leningrad and Ryazan regions.

A Ukrainian SBU source told Kiev publication Ukrainska Pravda that Ukrainian drones attacked a Russian air force base and a military airfield in the Voronezh region of western Russia.

In recent days, Ukraine has launched several massive drone attacks against the territory of the Russian Federation. Authorities in the Russian regions of Nizhny Novgorod and Oryol reported this Tuesday fires at a refinery and an oil depot, respectively, following a Ukrainian attack.

Kiev has opted in recent months to develop long-range drones to attack Russian military objectives and strategic infrastructure in the rear.
