Israel will allow the “temporary” delivery of aid to Gaza strip through the Erez crossing point, in the north of this Palestinian territory threatened by famine, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office announced on Friday.

The war cabinet authorized the government to “take immediate steps to increase aid” in order to “avoid a humanitarian crisis” and “ensure the continuation of fighting”, said the prime minister’s office, which hours earlier had received a notification of US President Joe Biden to protect the civilian population of Gaza.
