War in Ukraine: One person died in Russian bombing, Moscow shot down 20 drones

The war continues to rage. At least one person died this Thursday in Russian bombings in Ukraine. Russia claims to have shot down 20 Ukrainian drones and two missiles in several regions, relevant authorities said. The attacks came a day after a triple Russian strike on Cherniguev, a major city in northern Ukraine, that left 18 people dead, according to the final official report released this Thursday after relief operations ended.

In the Donetsk region, partly occupied by Russia in eastern Ukraine, one person died in Selidovo during Russian bombing that damaged houses and set fire to an industrial area, Governor Vadim Filashkin said on Telegram. Two people were also injured in Krasnogorovka and several other towns were affected by the strikes, he added.

Drones were also destroyed in Ukraine

In the Kherson region in the south of the country, 16 people were injured as a result of several explosions over the past 24 hours, Governor Alexander Prokudin reported on Telegram. The Ukrainian Air Force said it shot down 13 explosive drones overnight from Wednesday to Thursday.

In Russia, authorities reported several Ukrainian air attacks overnight. The Defense Ministry said it neutralized 20 drones and two ballistic missiles in flight, particularly over the Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine and is regularly attacked.

The woman injured in the attack was hospitalized, said regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, other targets include Voronezh, which also borders Ukraine, and Rostov, where the military headquarters of the Russian operation in Ukraine is located.
