Drones shot down, but ‘no missile attack yet’, Iran says

Several drones were “successfully shot down” by Iranian air defenses early Friday, but there is “no information yet” about a possible missile attack, an Iranian space agency spokesman said.

“At this time, there have been no air attacks outside of Isfahan or in other parts of the country,” Hossein Dalirian said in a message published on X after US television reported an Israeli attack on Iran.

“Several micro-aircraft were successfully shot down by the country’s air defense; there is no documentary evidence of a missile attack yet,” he said.

Fars News Agency reported that three explosions were heard early on Sunday morning near the Iranian army’s Shekari air base in the northwestern city of Isfahan (centre).
