US on alleged conspiracy to assassinate Zelensky: shows Putin’s “depravity”

U.S pointed out this Tuesday that the alleged Russian plan to assassinate the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenskyis a sample of “depravity”from the Government of Vladimir Putin.

State Department Spokesperson Matthew Millerguaranteed that washington keep in touchnext” with Ukraine about the investigations into the alleged plan, but declined to confirm whether U.S has more information about this.

“It’s an example of the depravity we saw under Putin’s regime since the beginning of this conflict“, said the employee.

He Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) announced this Tuesday that it managed to frustrate a plan by Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) to assassinate Zelensky and the heads of Ukrainian military intelligence (GUR), Kirilo Budanovand the SBU itself, Vasil Maliuk.

“The network, whose activities were supervised by the FSB in Moscowincluded two colonels from the State Administration Security (of Ukraine) who passed secret information to the Russian Federation”, explained the SBU in a statement.

State Administration Security is the body responsible for providing security to Ukrainian leaders. The two colonels were detained in the operation, according to the Ukrainian Public Prosecutor’s Office, for crimes of high treason and terrorism.

The US is one of Ukraine’s main allies in the West and has given the Government Volodimir Zelensky more than $75 billion in humanitarian and military aid since the start of the war, according to the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, a German research center.
