Strike at Rafah: “These operations must stop,” Emmanuel Macron said indignantly

There was no shortage of response after Israel’s deadly strike on Rafah on Sunday evening, which left at least 40 people dead and 65 wounded, according to a Civil Defense report in the Gaza Strip, which we cannot verify. Emmanuel Macron also spoke on Monday morning. “These operations must stop. There are no safe zones for Palestinian civilians in Rafah. “I call for full compliance with international law and an immediate ceasefire,” the President of the Republic said on X.

Hundreds of thousands of civilians who fled the fighting following Israel’s late October invasion of the Gaza Strip have taken refuge in the area. While the Israeli army claims to have struck the Hamas complex without violating international law and even killed two Hamas leaders, the Palestinian Red Crescent and the Palestinian Presidency claim that the IDF targeted a refugee camp.
