China registers 50 new cases of coronavirus, 38 of them due to local contagion

The National Health Commission of China announced today the detection of 50 new positives of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus this Friday, 38 of them due to local contagion in Gansu (north, 17), Inner Mongolia (north, 11), Beijing (north, 6), Ningxia (center , 3), Yunnan (south, 1).

The remaining 12 cases were found among overseas travelers in Shanghai (east, 3), Fujian (southeast, 2), Guangxi (south, 2), Tianjin (north, 1), Liaoning (northeast, 1), Shandong (east , 1), Canton (south, 1) and Yunnan (south, 1).

The health authorities also reported today the detection of 17 asymptomatic cases, 11 of them “imported” from abroad and 6 due to local contagion, although Beijing does not count them as confirmed cases unless they manifest symptoms.

The total of this type of infections under observation is 385, of which 354 come from other territories.

The National Health Commission also detailed that, until last local midnight (16:00 GMT on Friday), 19 patients were discharged after successfully overcoming the covid.

The total number of active infected in mainland China amounts to 549, 7 of which are serious.

According to the accounts of the institution, since the beginning of the pandemic, 96,715 people have been infected in the country, among which 91,530 have managed to heal and 4,636 died.

To date, 1,224,969 close contacts with infected people have been followed up, of which 26,626 continue to be observed.
