The newspaper “The Sun” points out that this is the first time that the queen has not attended mass since she returned a few weeks ago from the Scottish castle of Balmoral at the end of her summer holidays.

Buckingham Palace, the official residence of the royal family, has not provided further information on the health of Elizabeth II.

Last week, the queen was admitted overnight to the King Edward VII private hospital in the center of the British capital for “preliminary examinations”, but the Royal House has not specified what kind of test she was subjected to.

The monarch had to cancel a planned visit to Northern Ireland last week on the advice of her doctors.

According to the media, the queen carries out “light tasks”, such as attending to official documents or correspondence.

The queen’s hospital admission was the first since she spent a night in the same clinic in 2013 due to gastroenteritis.
