Bus driver resigns on the road and explains on video the abuses of his company

In social networks, the video of a driver of the Sitp urban bus is circulating, who identifies himself as an employee of the Consorcio Express operator and resigns in the middle of one of his tours in Bogotá, Colombia.

“Until today I am going with you. I can’t take it anymore and I don’t have to put up with any more humiliation or mistreatment from anyone; let alone having to work almost nine hours in a row without having time off ”, says the man, visibly upset and stressed.

The driver assures that although his work works from a schedule, schedules are not met and he has been called upon to make reservations for various routes.

“I don’t get support or understanding or anything like that from the people in charge. I already told them to come and get the bus ”, dice. “I’m going to stay here until they come looking for her so that I don’t commit myself further. But I’m not going to work anymore, I feel unwell. I joined the union for that, to assert my rights. But, no … I don’t want to fight or fight anything. I love my company, but it’s a pity for the leaders who, no matter how much one asks them for consideration, no, they don’t care”He adds.

The man warns that this is a situation that has been occurring and that it could affect the public transport service. “Good operators like me quit because we can’t stand the mistreatment. I’m not going anymore “, manifests.

TransMilenio acknowledged being aware of this video, but clarified that “the contractual relationship of the operators is directly with the concessionaires of the System, not with TRANSMILENIO SA, which is the managing body”. In other words, the case falls within the competence of Consorcio Express, which also has the obligation to “guarantee compliance with the schedules established for drivers, which are days that do not exceed eight hours, including the corresponding breaks to guarantee operational safety”.

For this reason, he indicated that, in this case, the route to be followed by the driver is to file a complaint with competent entities such as the Ministry of Labor “so that they can carry out the investigations that take place and take the corresponding measures.”
