“My house woke up under siege”: leader of the November 15 protest in Cuba denounces that the police prevent him from leaving

The leader of the Cuban dissident convocation of 15N, Yunior Garcia AguileraHe assured this Sunday that state security is preventing his march through the center of Havana as he had promised.

The Efe agency was able to verify that around 11.00 in the morning (15.00 GMT) seven plainclothes agents were guarding the surroundings of the home of Garcia Aguilera, with two vehicles and several mopeds. At least four international media teams were also there.

The activist also denounced that the agents tried to expel from the place several foreign journalists who had approached the building. “They made them go shouting and threatening,” he said.

Despite the presence of the security forces and the possibility of being arrested, García Aguilera said he was ready to march. “I’m ready, dressed in white, as you can see, and when possible I will leave the house,” the playwright told the camera, who shortly after acknowledged that he could “be detained in a few hours.”

Garcia Aguilera He announced this week that he would march, alone and with a white flower, this Sunday through the center of Havana, on the eve of the demonstration that he and the group of activists Archipelago called to call for political changes on the island.

The Cuban government, which did not authorize the 15N march, has criticized the organizers and assured that the United States is behind this initiative.
