6.1 magnitude earthquake shakes northwestern Myanmar

A 6.1 magnitude earthquake shook the northwest of Myanmar, near the border with India, without the authorities having reported material damage or victims at the moment.

The earthquake occurred at 6.15 a.m. local time (23.45 GMT on Thursday) and was located 32 kilometers underground and 19 kilometers northeast of the city of Hakha, capital of Chin state, reported the United States Geological Survey, which measures the seismic activity around the world.
