Hiker finds human bone and helps solve the case of a missing man in 2013 in the US

The mysterious 2013 missing man case came to an end after a hiker recording videos for TikTok found a human bone while hiking through an arid area in Nevada. USA.

As reported by the Daily Mail, the detectives in charge of the investigation were able to determine that the found bone belonged to Christopher Cash, 55, who also suffered from paranoid schizophrenia.

The discovery occurred in November 2020, when Tad Thornton I was hiking through an uninhabited area in Carson City (Nevada).

The last week of November, the man revealed details on his account TikTok on how he found the bone while walking his dogs. Initially he believed that it belonged to some animal. “I thought it was the pet bone of someone who had had surgery”he noted in the video.

The version of Thornton came after the Carson City Police Department announce that Cash’s remains had been identified after 8 years of missing.

In another part of the clip, Thornton revealed that the metal plate embedded in the bone was crucial to the investigation.

“It was a real human bone, and this bone helped solve a missing persons case,” said.

Cash he had been reported missing in August 2013. As the outlet points out, he was quite well known in the city. He had stopped taking the medications to combat his schizophrenia.

The police have not yet determined the reason for his death.

Other parts of the body of Cash they had previously been found by hikers. In January 2019, a hiker found a human skull in a remote area about Centennial Park. Upon investigation, coroners determined that the bone had no signs of bruising.

In February 2020, another man found more bones in a ravine near the area where Thornton made his discovery. The Search and Rescue Unit of Carson City found more bones in the ravine and in other nearby places. They only suspected that the parts had been scattered by animals.

For Christopher Cash’s identification, his brother provided part of his ADN.
