The dollar price The US currency in Colombia is trading higher this Wednesday, amid agents’ uncertainty in the face of a negative external outlook as central banks try to control rising inflation.
The price of the dollar in Colombia for this Wednesday, May 25, 2022 is 3,975 Colombian pesos, according to data from Bloomberg.
According to Reuters, interest in risky assets was underpinned by Biden’s announcement that trade tariffs imposed on China by the previous administration would be discussed.
“Investors see in this a possible de-escalation of the trade war between the two economic superpowers, which has revived commercial optimism towards riskier assets”, said Pierre Veyret, technical analyst at ActivTrades.
In the week, the agents will be attentive to data such as the Global Purchasing Management Index (PMI), the sales of new homes in the United States, the GDP and the applications for unemployment benefits, along with another round of speeches from the Fed, the European Central Bank and the Bank of England, to give more clues about the economic outlook.
In 2021, the US dollar was exchanged at a maximum of 4,033.25 Colombian pesos, while its lowest level was 3,412.80.
