Budget 2022: three billion euros in additional revenue compared to forecasts

This is a little better than expected. Thanks to job creation this year, tax revenue in 2022 will be higher than forecast, Minister Delegate for Public Accounts Gabriel Attal said in an interview with Le Figaro on Friday.

“In 2022, our tax revenues will exceed the forecast by 3 billion euros. With the creation of 450,000 jobs this year, we will raise 9 billion euros in additional social security contributions and CSG,” the minister told the newspaper.

Asked about the 7 billion additional spending included in the 2023 budget during the budget debate in Parliament this autumn, Gabriel Attal justified: “If we had not earmarked these funds to protect our businesses and jobs, we would have spent double or triple more in the coming years. in unemployment insurance or support for bankrupt companies.

Strengthen the fight against fraud

In this interview, Gabriel Attal also announced his desire to intensify the fight against social and tax fraud. His “first priority” will be health insurance. “On this issue, I have a clear target: I want to double the fraud reimbursement from 2024, from 250 million euros today to 500 million euros per year,” explained the minister, who is still assessing that working in black “represents a deficit” . from 5 to 7 billion euros, which exceeds the annual budget of the Ministry of Culture.”

According to the minister in charge of the budget, “we need to significantly improve our tools, do more checks and cross-check data.” With this in mind, he announced the creation in 2023 of “450 Cyber ​​Investigator positions” in the social security funds.
