The average price for that day was S/3.6700 at the interbank level, with a minimum of S/3.6610 and a maximum of S/3.6840, according to the BCRP.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday the 9th, the dollar closed at S/3,693, with what registered a fall of 0.41% and reached its lowest level so far this year. That was the first day that the US currency was below S/3.70 since May 2022.

It should also be remembered that on Monday the 8th, the dollar closed at S/3,708, as announced by the BCRP.

According to Asvim Asencios, Foreign Exchange trader at Renta4 SAB, the global markets fell on the morning of Tuesday the 9th due to the uncertainty generated by the weak Chinese economic data, which caused a strong sale of short-term United States Treasury bonds .

Also, the trader noted that the markets are waiting for the US inflation data to be released on Wednesday. He highlighted that the results may generate changes in opinions about the interest rate cut in the year.
