The Lima Stock Exchange reports that, as of June 2023, corporate debt for S/ 1,775 million was placed

The Lima Stock Exchange (BVL) informs that, as of June 2023, corporate debt for S/ 1,775 million was placed, an amount 32% higher than the similar period of 2022.

This financing was mainly directed to short-term loans and working capital.. In the month of May, the largest long-term placement since February 2022 was made, for USD 60.00 million at a term of 10 years and with a fixed rate of return of 8%, where an excess demand of USD 156.74 million (equivalent to at 2.61x).

In this period, the rates of short-term instruments were in the range between 8.00% and 9.00% in soles, while the rates in dollars oscillated in the range between 6.00% and 7.75%.

Of the 14 active companies, those in the financial sector were the main issuers of debt because it represented 78.43% of the total amount placed. They are followed by the electricity sector with 19.72% and other sectors with 1.85%.
