Fake agents, electrical panel modification… Enedis warns against scams and scams committed in her name

Beware of fake Enedis agents! This Wednesday, the distributor issued a press release warning of “fraud and fraud” attempts that could target its customers. The subsidiary indicated that its name and “the identities of certain of its employees” were used for “fraudulent purposes.” The company therefore called on its 37.5 million customers to “protect themselves” from these actions, reminding them of the framework within which Enedis employees operate.

“Enedis does not conduct any commercial solicitation or sell any products or services that could alter the integrity of its customers’ electrical panel in order to partially or fully reduce the amount payable for the electricity they consume,” the company stated. . Most of its activities relate to “electrical connections, installation of Linky meters, metering of electricity consumption, troubleshooting of electrical problems after power outages and negotiation of electricity contracts at the request of energy suppliers.”

Notification of passage and appointment

Treatments performed at home “are always subject to prior notice or an appointment agreed upon with the client,” Enedis continues. The latter reminds that “energy theft” is punishable by large fines and imprisonment and that these sanctions can be aimed not only at the criminals, but also at the people who agree to “carry out these scams.” Thus, according to the distributor, two men were recently convicted of “illegally modifying customers’ electrical panels.” The latter were also punished.
