The most traded value of the day was the semiconductor analysis equipment manufacturer Lasertec, which fell 0.95%, followed by the chip manufacturing equipment producer Tokyo Electron, which finished flat.

Semiconductor company Advantest also finished on the negative side, down 2.14%. Likewise, automotive leader Toyota and technology conglomerate Softbank fell 0.35% and 1.24%, respectively.

The three main Japanese banks, on the other hand, closed with gains: Sumitomo Mitsui 1.92%, Mitsubushi UFG 1.07% and Mizuho 0.24%.

In the main section, 791 stocks fell versus 807 that rose, and 59 ended unchanged.

The total value of the negotiation amounted to 4.76 trillion yen, about 29,144 million euros.
