Bacilos present “Toca Madera”, their new compilation EP

bacilli is back in 2022, the popular band released their three new songs compiled in an EP entitled: “Toca Madera”, which is also the name of their most recent single and is accompanied by a video clip shot in the city of Bogotá. This single is full of new sounds but with the characteristic style of Bacilos.

“Knock on Wood” is a song written by Bacilos, Jorge Villamizar and André Lopes; co-written and produced by Colombian musician Jona Camacho and Alfonso Ordoñez, the award-winning Venezuelan producer, the recording was made at the Red Dot studios in Miami.

“Toca Madera was born from a progression that I was working on, with an idea that was spinning in my head and I took her to a composition session that we had with Jona and Alfonso”, André Lopes points out.

This unexpected union has managed to combine the Anglo and Latin influences of Bacilos, resulting in an innovative and incredible song that is already surprising all his fans. The video clip was recorded in Bogotá and directed by the talented Christian Schmid Rincón, a Colombian-German director, recognized for his work with Fonseca, Diego Torres, Choquibtown and Matisse, among others.

The story of the “Touch Wood” clip revolves around an adult couple whose age is no limit for love and conquest. It also has the participation of the most famous street dancer in Bogotá, Reinaldo Galvis Gutiérrez, considered a hero of the Colombian capital.

“As soon as I heard the mix of ‘Toca Madera’, an image of two men who go out to dinner, conquer each other, have fun and love to dance came to mind”, comments Jorge Villamizar.

In addition to the single “Toca Madera”, the EP, which bears the same name, includes the songs “After you left”, where Jorge Villamizar sings in English, and Masna’ ft. The Mola that invites you to live without algorithms.

With 18 years of career in music and multiple Latin Grammy winner, Bacilos boasts more than 20 million listeners on streaming platforms and his music reached 83 new territories. Since 2015 his songs have collected more than 1 Billion streams. Bacilos is a Latin Pop band that was born in Miami in 1996.

After taking a hiatus in 2007, the band reunited to release an album in 2017 introducing their fans to new music and covers of their iconic songs. In 2022 Bacilos, currently made up of Colombian Jorge Villamizar and Brazilian André Lopes, returns with “Toca Madera”, a song that will mark the beginning of a new era for the band.
