Harrison Ford Joins the MCU as General Ross

Harrison Ford will take over a key role in the MCU: that of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. The actor has indeed been confirmed in the casting of the next film Captain Americasubtitle New World Orderby Deadline.

In this next installment, Anthony Mackie will take on the role of the leader of the Avengers, in the wake of the series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Until now, Thunderbolt Ross was played by William Hurt, who had played him since The Incredible Hulk in 2008. But after the actor’s death last March, the character’s future was up in the air.

Marvel therefore put an end to speculation by announcing the name of an absolute legend of cinema to replace him.

Antagonist

It’s unclear, however, which precise incarnation of Tunderbolt Ross was chosen by Marvel for Harrison Ford. Over the years, the character has had several roles in the comics, but he is generally considered one of the main enemies of Hulk, played by Mark Ruffalo in the MCU.

In some more recent stories featuring General Ross, we even learned that he had, in his destructive madness to kill the green giant, succeeded in transforming himself into the red version of the superhero: Red-Hulk.

In the comics, Ross also puts together a team of antiheroes called the Thunderbolts. That’s good: a Thunderbolts movie is planned for 2024, and Harrison Ford should also be part of it, according to Deadline.

The actor, who turned 80 this summer, will also star in the fifth IndianaJonesslated for release in June 2023.
